Once upon a time, a scared child entered a high school building.
She was frigtened half to death, but luckily so was everyone else. There was only one kid from her old school here, but she'd come for exactly that reason- a fresh start, where she could be something more than the lonely bookworm.
She hung out with the popular kids for a while, btu found them somewhat boring and tiring, so she stuck with another group of friends.
The first of this group was a boy with big blue eyes and messy hair, and he had glasses like her (although he only got the glasses in 8th or 9th grade, actually). They met during the Terry Fox run, because both were petting their fairly obese french teacher's golden retriever. They shared a belief in the supernatural, and a love of books. So they became friends.
The next member of this group was a girl who was very lonely; an artist who imped through the hallways. She became friends with our protagonist by lending her lunch money one day, and then they started talking. They had art together, along with a girl named Victoria who would also join the group full-time in grade 8.
The last member of the quartet-

This is a strange blog
But then it's a strange story.
Once upon a time, there was a chilean woman and a nova scotian man.
They met at a disco on the chilean woman's birthday and danced. Some time later, they married, and a year after that a baby girl, their eldest child, was born.
She was a quiet child- she slept a little more than other babies and didn't scream as much. She was a good baby.
She grew up to be louder, however. Maybe the silence was just a break for the parents. Lull them into false security, then holler in their ears?
She gained two brothers, whom she loved very much. One of them was autistic and always stole her food, but that stopped because when she was a child and stupid she would yell at him and pull his hair and stuff if he took her candy.
Actually, she still yells at him today, but that's not the point.
She went to kindergarten at age six, because she was born in november and Quebec has weird laws about that sort of thing.
She was born in Nova Scotia, by the way. In case you were wondering.
She loved kindergarten very much, and made a lot of friends- one of those friends would later go to her high school, but she wasn't quite that old yet so she had no idea.
The only things she ended up remembering out of those years was a picture book with treasure, a lava game -she was crazy about make-believe games and stil hasn't quite gotten out of that-, flowers, corn on the cob and hot dog day, gym class, getting teased about her short haircut one day, the bus ride, bingo, and an unfortunate event in the girl's bathroom that involved a brat named Denise (she hasn't quite gotten over that yet).
Then she switched schools and moved to another town. It was grade one.
She made no friends that year, and was scared of her teacher because she was old and yelled a lot.
In grade two, she made friends with a first grader named Angelou, and they were best friends until grade five, when our protagonist met Samantha. She never made many friends and was always a bit of a loner, however. It made her insecure in later life, as well as a little resentful.
In her last year of elementary, she joined the band and sang a song a graduation.
Luckily, she didn't know she was horrid at singing, and more luckily the drums were too loud so no one heard her anyways.
She had a crush on a boy named Scott, but due to a bullying/mediating crisis she kind of ruined any chance she may have had.
The bullying thing is something she still regrets, so if you see a Scott Harvey anywhere, tell him that Carla Dean is very sorry.
